WELCOME, I AM LISA R. BAKER I am a licensed clinical social worker and have spent over 20 years as a school social worker. I worked for 10 years as a per diem case manager with Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services. In October 2018, I opened my private practice, after missing the clinical aspect of helping individuals and families overcome anxiety, learning coping skills, and defeating depression. As a parent of a young adult with special needs, I know how challenging life can sometimes be. I believe that continuing to strive for positive outcomes throughout our lives, is the key to overall individual and family mental health wellness. TREATMENT MODALITIES: I am trained and use several treatment modalities Trauma-Focused Cognitive Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents impacted by trauma and their parents or caregivers. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. THE THERAPEUTIC PROCESS: Your scheduled appointment is "your time," whether it's for a brief consultation or clinical session. I’ll ask for your feedback and make sure we’re on the same page. Everything I bring to session and employ is evidence-based and has solid research and outcomes supporting it. CLIENTS SERVED: My practice proudly works with adults and couples who are struggling with substance use and mental health disorders regardless of sexual orientation, religion, or ethnicity. I am licensed to serve clients in Michigan. INSURANCE/FINANCIAL POLICIES: I currently participate with Blue Care Network of Michigan, BCBS of Michigan, Medicaid~Blue Cross Complete, Medicare~Plus Blue PPO, Priority Health, Medicaid~Priority Health, Medicare~Priority Health, Cigna & UHC. Co-payments, deductibles, and ALL session fees are due at the time of service. Bills/invoices for services are not routinely sent. Together we get your specific insurance plan covers and what your responsibility is as the subscriber. I verify your insurance coverage to the best of my knowledge before our initial session. It is your responsibility to provide me with a copy of your new or changed insurance cards. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount.
